Leonard Thomas Dawson Death Obituary | Fraker Funeral Home | Kingston, TN

Leonard “Len” Dawson lived a life grounded in family, service and the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. The Harriman, Tennessee, community is mourning his passing after he died Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Methodist Medical Center. He was 73.

Born August 29, 1952, Len was a retired carpenter and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Away from work and military service, he found joy in bass fishing, spectator sports and spending time with the people closest to him.

Family was at the heart of Len’s life. He is survived by his wife, Janice Cramer Dawson, and his son, Robert Leedy, and his wife, Kristen. His family also includes grandchildren Kaitlyn and Hannah, three great-grandchildren, brothers Ronnie and Junior Dawson, sisters Kathy Compton and Bonnie Adae, brothers-in-law Roger Mills and Mike Mills, along with numerous relatives and friends.

Len was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Dora Dawson, and his brother, Richard Dawson.

Those who knew him will remember a man who appreciated fishing, loved sports and valued the time he spent with family and friends. The memories created during those ordinary but meaningful moments will remain an important part of his legacy.

A graveside service was scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2026, at Poplar Springs Cemetery, with full military honors conducted by the Roane County Honor Guard. Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston is serving the Dawson family.

Leonard “Len” Dawson leaves behind a legacy of service, family devotion and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
