For 76 years, Marilyn G. King built a life centered on family, devotion and the relationships that mattered most. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, August 14, 2026, leaving behind generations of loved ones who will carry her memory forward.
A longtime resident of Carbonear, Newfoundland and Labrador, Marilyn was the devoted wife of Lloyd King, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Together, they raised three sons, Greg, Jeff and Stephen, and welcomed grandchildren Amanda, Mark, Julie and Ryan, as well as great-granddaughter Kinsley.
Her family remembers a woman whose greatest legacy was the love she gave to those around her. She is also survived by numerous siblings, step-siblings, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Edith and Albert Peach; stepfather Chris Sooley; special niece Jessica Parsons; and several members of her extended family.
Her family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the staff and management of Bay Roberts Retirement Home for their kindness and care. They also offered special thanks to Amanda Badcock for her tender care and companionship, as well as the doctors and staff at Carbonear General Hospital for their exceptional care during Marilyn’s final days.
Visitation was scheduled at Noel’s Funeral Home in Carbonear on August 17 and 18, followed by her funeral service at Bethany United Church on August 18.
Marilyn’s life will be remembered through her family, the love she shared and the countless memories she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of devotion will endure through those who loved her.
