Waterloo Stabbing Today: Man in His 30s Dies as Police Investigate Fatal Attack

A man in his 30s has died following a stabbing in Waterloo, Sydney, with police launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.

Emergency services were called to a unit block on Pitt Street shortly before 7:20 p.m. Tuesday following reports of an assault. Police found the man suffering from a stab wound to his torso. He was treated at the scene before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in critical condition, where he later died at about 8:45 p.m.

A woman, also reportedly in her 30s, was at the location and sustained a minor head injury. She was taken to hospital and was later discharged. Police have said the man’s identity has not yet been formally confirmed.

A crime scene has been established as detectives investigate what led to the stabbing. Police have not yet determined exactly how many people were involved and have not located the weapon believed to have been used. Domestic violence has reportedly been ruled out at this stage.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around Pitt Street at the time of the incident to come forward.

The investigation remains ongoing, and further details are expected as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
